23 YEARS

Implementation of Pimwave at Candelsa

CASE STUDY

Candelsa

Electrodomèstics Candelsa, S.A., founded in 1972, is an established purchasing center for household appliances, consumer electronics, and new technologies. With over 50 years of experience, Candelsa has become a renowned service provider in retail sales, expanding its commercial network across 7 autonomous communities of the national territory.

Candelsa serves 7 autonomous communities and over 15 provinces. As a central purchasing center, their main objective is to provide efficient and timely supply to our stores and end consumers. By doing so, they aim to minimize unnecessary stock at the point of sale.

Candelsa is growing year after year, expanding its network of associated stores with our commercial brands Euronics, Tien21, and Confort. Their strengths lie in their modern and innovative facilities, strong human capital, a powerful logistics platform, and advanced computer systems.

The company aimed to implement the Pimwave platform for automated, centralized, and extensible product management.

With the growing significance of online sales through its Puntronic portal, there was a need to centralize all product-related information. This included structured information such as descriptions, attributes, characteristics, and categorizations obtained from Microsoft Axapta. Additionally, unstructured information like images and associated documents, often collected from various sources, needed to be integrated into the system.

Description of the main functionalities

Item module

Search engine

  • Direct item search by SKU, EAN/UPC, or identifier.
  • Text search by description, item code, or any relevant text field.
  • Filter search by category, family, subfamily, collection, or other relevant attributes.
  • Customized filters as needed by the customer. For example, separate items by status (additions and deletions) or displaying only web catalog products.
  • pecial “table” type field with two columns: the first one defines the feature name (e.g., inches) and the second one specifies the feature value (e.g., 19”).
  • Other categorizations
  • Type of product
  • Linear (product in stock)
  • Transit (product on demand)

Synchronization module

This module is responsible for parameterizing all data import (input) and export (output) processes in the PIM platform.

Results and synchronization history

Similar to the image upload process, all synchronizations performed in Pimwave, whether they are imports or exports, automatic or manual, will be recorded in the system along with their respective details.

Image module

The Pimwave platform, through its image module, enables users to upload multiple images in bulk and automatically associate them with articles.

User management
The PIM platform allows for the unlimited addition, modification, and deletion of users. Only administrators or users with permissions to the user module can create new users and modify existing ones.

Users with external access

Candelsa needed to create a user type with special permissions and restricted access to certain items and/or families. This user type, referred to as “external”, applies, for example, to the collaborators the company has to generate content for the articles.

Integration with e-commerce, Logicommerce.

Results

After the implementation of the Pimwave platform, Candelsa now has a PIM environment for product management that is fully tailored to their specific needs. It integrates seamlessly with the rest of the technological ecosystem.
As ERP, Candelsa uses Microsoft Axapta, and for e-commerce, it has been integrated with Logicommerce.

Additionally, specific functionalities have been developed for the product purchasing area, making this platform a key component of the entire Candelsa management ecosystem and contributing to the significant growth of the online portal puntronic.com.

Moreover, having a central PIM repository with comprehensive product information has facilitated the integration of article information across other platforms in Candelsa’s technological infrastructure, including the store POS.
