Mas y Mas supermarkets decided to undertake a project to analyze, diagnose, and ultimately improve their transportation department.

Project description

The general purposes of this project have been the following:

  • To analyze and diagnose the human resources organization within the transportation department and propose organizational improvements.
  • To analyze the established transport management procedures, invoicing criteria, operating accounts, profitability per vehicle, fleet, and zone analysis. Furthermore, an assessment of the technical resources available for transportation processes has been conducted.

The objective is to analyze the three perspectives of the transportation area: PEOPLE-PROCESSES-RESOURCES to enhance the company’s EFFECTIVENESS-EFFICIENCY in this area.

Results

After the completion of this project, Mas y Mas supermarkets have implemented all the necessary actions at the organizational, functional, and technical levels to significantly improve the set of procedures, tasks, and methods related to the warehouse and transportation area. Furthermore, the implementation of this plan has resulted in reduced transportation costs and optimized routes without compromising the quality of service.
