23 YEARS

Reinventing core processes

CASE STUDY

Grupo Caleta

Hormigones Caleta is one of the leading concrete manufacturing companies in the provinces of Castellón, Valencia, and Alicante, with fourteen production plants and a dedicated facility to produce prefabricated products.

Needs

After experiencing significant growth in the past ten years, the company recognized the need for a process reorganization that would impact all its concrete production plants in the Valencian Community. This reorganization included the redesign of the commercial area and the management of customer risk.

Description of the consultancy

The consultancy involved the initial definition of production, commercial, and customer risk management processes, followed by an analysis of improvements for each process. The goal was to develop a final improved model. Interdependencies between areas and processes were considered to identify overlaps or duplications and unify them for enhanced effectiveness and efficiency. Once the improved model was created, it was implemented within the company. Our work was considered complete when each of the improved processes described was successfully implemented. As part of the process of reengineering tasks, the professional organization chart was restructured to align with the new model, and key personnel received training.

Results

After completing the reorganization of resources and processes, the Caleta Group has successfully optimized the effectiveness, efficiency, and cost of key processes. Additionally, the centralization and unification of processes have provided a clear competitive advantage due to the company’s size. This has resulted in better utilization of the company’s generated information, which is now accessible to all subsidiaries. For instance, the customer risk analysis process has been centralized, regardless of the manufacturing plant, and the works acquisition process is now available to all companies within Grupo Caleta.
